Tools needed to complete this tutorial.

Paint Shop Pro V8

Eye Candy 4000

A tube of your choice.
The tube I have used along the side border is used with permission from Lyssa. Thanks Lyssa for allowing me to use your wonderful tubes in my tutorials.

If you have everything you need, lets get started.

  1. Open your tube and with your eye dropper chose a foreground and background color.

  2. Change your foreground to gradient and chose the foreground-background gradient, angle 90, repeats 1, Linear style.

  3. Open a new 1024 x 400 transparent image.

  4. Flood fill with the gradient.

  5. With your selection tool, click on the custom selection and use the following settings:-

    • Top:    0
    • Left:    100
    • Right:    200
    • Bottom:     400

  6. Flood fill with the background color.
  7. Effects, plugins, Eye Candy 4000, Weave and use the following settings:-

    • Ribbon width:    36.46
    • Gap Width:    20
    • Shadow Strength:     50
    • Thread Detail:    50
    • Thread Length:    22
    • Smear Ribbons:    UNchecked
    • Keep Original image:    Checked

  8. Effects, 3D Effects, drop shadow and apply the following:-

    • Vertical:    0
    • Horizontal:    4
    • Opacity:     45
    • Blur:    6

  9. Repeat drop shadow but change the horizontal to -4 (minus).

  10. Deselect.

  11. Go back to your custom selection, and change the settings to:

    • Top:    0
    • Left:    50
    • Right:     70
    • Bottom:     400

  12. Layers, new raster layer.

  13. Change your gradient settings to repeats 10 and flood fill.

  14. Effects. plugins, Eye Candy 4000, Weave and use the following settings:-

    • Riboon Width:    58
    • Gap Width:    11.82
    • Shadow Strength:     50
    • Thread Detail:    50
    • Thread Length:    22
    • Keep Original Image:    Checked.

  15. Repeat the drop shadows from above.

  16. Click on your tube image and edit, copy.

  17. Go back to the background image, edit, paste as new layer.

  18. Resize if necessary.

  19. Apply the same drop shadows that we used earlier.

  20. Layers, new raster layer and add your watermark.

  21. Merge all, flatten.

  22. Selections, select all. Selections, modify, contract by 2.

  23. Image, crop to selection. Save as a jpeg and take it into Letter Creator.
