TURBINE SIDE BORDER

Funhouse Filters

A tube of your choice.
The tube I have used for this tutorial is used with permission from H L Designs who have kindly allowed me to use their wonderful tubes in my tutorials and stationery.

Ok, if you have everything you need, lets begin.

  1. Open your tube of choice. Shift + D to duplicate it, and close the original.

  2. Image, resize and resize the tube by 85%, all layers Unchecked.

  3. Image, canvas size and use the following settings:-

    • Width:      1025
    • Height:      Height of your graphic
    • Placement:      Left middle arrow.

  4. Using your eye dropper, chose two complimenting colours from your graphic for the foreground and background colour.

  5. In your colour palette, change your background to gradient and use the Foreground-Background gradient set at an angel of 90 and with 100 repeats.

  6. Add a new raster layer and flood fill with your gradient.

  7. Layers, arrange, send to bottom.

  8. Adjust, Blur, Gaussian blur and use a setting of 3.0

  9. Make sure that your tube layer (top layer) is the active one, and duplicate.

  10. With your mover tool, move the duplicate copy of the tube over slightly to the right.

  11. Effects, Plugins, Funhouse, Turbine Mirror and use a setting of 242.

  12. Edit, repeat Turbine Mirror.

  13. Effects, Plugins, Funhuse, Streakmirror and use the default settings.

  14. Layers, arrange, move down.

  15. Lower the opacity of this layer to 75%

  16. Highlight your top layer to select it, and duplicate it. Move the duplicate to the far right.

  17. Image, resize and resize by 75%, all layers Unchecked.

  18. Lower the opacity to around 35% and you may need to use your mover tool again to move it right over to the right hand side.

  19. Layers, arrange, move down.

  20. Making sure the top layer is the active layer again, add a drop shadow using the following settings:

    • Vertical:       2
    • Horizontal:      18
    • Opacity:       35
    • Blur:      25
    • Color:      Black
    • Shadow on new layer:      Unchecked.

  21. Add a new layer for your watermark.

  22. Merge all, flatten.

    You can now take it into Letter Creator. A program that comes with IncrediMail.

    Remember to tile it.
