TUNNEL BACKGROUND
This tutorial is my own creation. Any resemblance to another is purely co-incidental. Please do not pull it apart and claim it as your own. Do not copy, translate or place on another site without my written permission. You are more than welcome to use this tutorial in a group setting, but please link to this page only.
Tools needed to complete this tutorial:
Paint Shop Pro V8, although it will work in earlier versions.
A tube of your choice
Filter Factory D
A tube of your choice.
Ok, if you have everything you need, let’s begin.
- Open your tube of choice and hit shift + D to duplicate. Close the original.
- Image, canvas size and use the following settings:-
- Width: 1024
- Height: The height of the original tube + 80
- Placement: Left middle arrow.
- Duplicate the layer 4 times. Move the first two layers over towards the right top half of the transparent graphic and the next two over to the right bottom half of the graphic. It doesn’t matter if they overlap a little.
- Add a new layer. Layers, arrange, send to bottom. Using your eye dropper select a nice complimenting colour from your tube and flood fill.
- Close the bottom two layers, and making sure that one of the top four layers is the active layer, merge visible.
- Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur and use a setting of 25.
- Effects, Plugins, Filter Factory D, Tunnel Tile and use the following settings:-
- Effects, Image Effects, Seamless Tiling and use the following settings:-
- Edge Checked
Vertical Checked
- Width: 38%
- Transition: 50%
- Effects, Image Effects, Seamless Tiling and use the following settings:-
- Corner Checked
- Bidirectional Checked
- Horizontal offset: 0
- Vertical offset: 50
- Transition: 50
- Curved checked.
- Layers, arrange, move down.
- Making sure your top layer is active, which should be the tube to the left of the graphic, effects, 3D effects, Drop shadow and apply the following:-
- Vertical: -10
- Horizontal: -25
- Opacity: 45
- Blur: 25
- Color: Black
- Shadow on new layer: Unchecked
- Add a new layer for your watermark.
- Merge all, flatten.
- File, export, JPEG optimizer. I used a setting of 15.
