This tutorial is written for Paint Shop Pro X, however, you should be able to do it with any version, however, you may find that some of the tools and effects are listed under different headings.
Tools needed to complete this tutorial:
Corel X
A graphic of your choice.
The graphic used for this tutorial is used with the written permission from the very talented Ursula Vernon of Metal & Magic
No outside filters are used.
Open your graphic and resize if necessary.
Windows, duplicate and minimize the duplicated image for now.
Duplicate the image, and minimize this second copy for now.
In your layer palette, right click on the background and promote background layer.
Right click again on the layer and duplicate.
Repeat 2 more times so that you now have a total of 4 layers.
Close off the top two layers.
Make sure that layer 2 is the active layer.
Image, Resize and resize by 90% all layers UNchecked.
Selections, select all.
Selections, float.
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the following settings:-
Vertical & Horizontal: 0
Opacity: 87
Blur: 18.5
Colour: Black
Shadow on new layer: UNchecked
Deselect.
Reopen layer 3 and make sure that it's the active layer.
Image, Resize and resize by 80%
Reopen layer 4 and make sure that it's the active layer.
Selections, select all.
Selections, float.
Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the same settings as before.
Deselect.
In your layer palette, merge all, Flatten.
Image, Add Border and add a 10 pixel white border.
Select this border with your magic wand.
Right click on your minimized graphic, edit, copy.
Back to the graphic you're working on, right click, edit, paste into selection.
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel and use the following settings:-
Pie Bevel.
Width: 5
Smoothness: 10
Depth: 4
Ambience: 0
Shininess: 0
Colour: White
Intensity: 48
Elevation: 35
Deselect.
Add a new layer for you watermark.
Merge all, flatten and resize if necessary.
