TEXTURE BACKGROUND

Tools needed to complete this tutorial:-

Corel X

Texturize plugin.
I can no longer find this for download, so if you don't have it
you may need to improvise with either another plugin, or the textures that come with PSP.

FM Tile Tools
This is not a free plugin. You can download the demo version, but I'm not sure if seamless tile
is one of the working filters that we need.

A tube of your choice.

The tube used in this tutorial was from a group share. If you are the artist and would like credit given, or the graphic removed, please email me.

Ok, if you have everything you need, then let's start.

  1. Open your tube of choice. Resize if necessary. We don't want it any wider than 350 pixels.

  2. Open a new, transparent image. 1250 x the height of your tube.

  3. With your dropper tool, chose a light and dark colour from your tube.

  4. Change the foreground gradient and pick the foregound/background gradient.

  5. Make the settings:

    • Angle:    45
    • Repeats:    2

  6. Flood fill your new image.

  7. Effects, plugins, Texture, texturizer and use the following settings:-

    • Texture:    Sandstone
    • Scaling:    100%
    • Relief:    2
    • Light Direction:    Bot. Right
    • Invert:    UNchecked

  8. Go back to your tube, edit copy.

  9. Back to the large image, copy, paste as new layer.

  10. With your mover tool, move the tube over to the left hand side.

  11. Add a new raster layer. Selections, select all.

  12. Edit, paste into selection.

  13. Drag this layer to just under the top layer and lower the opacity to around 18%

  14. Deselect.

  15. Lower the opacity of this layer to around the 18% mark.

  16. Highlight the top layer.

  17. Effects, 3D effects, Drop shadow and use the following settings:-

    • Vertical:    0
    • Horizontal:    5
    • Opacity:    65
    • Blur:    4
    • Color:    Black

  18. Layers, new raster layer. Add your watermark.

  19. Layers, merge all, flatten.

  20. Effects, plugins, FM Tile tools, Seamless tile and use the following settings:-

    • Border Width:    0.195
    • Stretch Control:    0.195
    • Vertical:    Checked

You've now finished. Take it into letter creator. Don't forget to tile.
