ROTATILE SIDE BORDER

This tutorial is my own creation. Please do not pull it apart and claim it as your own. Do not copy, translate or place on another site without my written permission. You may use this tutorial in a group setting, but please link only to this page.

Paint Shop Pro V8

Graphic of your choice.

  1. Open your graphic and resize to no wider than 350 pixels.

  2. Shift + D to duplicate and close the original.

  3. In your layer palette, right click and promote background layer.

  4. Click on your selection tool, then custom selection and use the following settings:-

    • Top:      0
    • Left:      300
    • Right:      350
    • Bottom:      Total length of your graphic.

  5. Effects, Plugins, VM Toolbox, Rotatile and use the following settings:-

    • Tile size:      71
    • Rotation:      36
    • Zoom:      136
    • X-Anchor:      62
    • Y-Anchor:      21

  6. Deselect.

  7. Click on your selection tool again, custom selection and use the following settings:-

    • Top:      0
    • Left:      270
    • Right:      300
    • Bottom:      Total length of your graphic

  8. Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur and use a setting of 5.

  9. Selections, invert.

  10. Effects, 3D Effects, Drop shadow and use the following settings:-

    • Vertical:      0
    • Horizontal:      5
    • Opacity:      100
    • Blur:      15
    • Color:      Black

  11. Repeat the drop shadow changing your horizontal to –5 (minus)

  12. Deselect.

  13. Edit, copy.

  14. Image, Canvas size and use the following settings:-

    • Width:      1024
    • Height:      Total height of your graphic
    • Placement:      Left middle arrow.

  15. Add a new layer. Layers, arrange, send to bottom.

  16. Selections, select all.

  17. Edit, paste into selection.

  18. Deselect.

  19. Effects, Plugins, VM Toolbox, Zoom Blur and use the following settings:-

    • Amount:      24
    • Adjust:      117

  20. Effects, Plugins, VM Toolbox, Soft Border and use the default settings.

  21. Effects, Image Effects, Seamless tiling and use the following settings:-

    • Corner Checked
    • Bidirectional Checked
    • Horizontal Offset:      0
    • Vertical offset:      0
    • Transition:      100
    • Curved Checked.

  22. Lower the opacity of this layer to 50%.

  23. Highlight the top layer.

  24. Effects, 3D Effects, Drop shadow and use the the same settings as before but change the Horizontal to 8 and change the blur to 65.

  25. Effects, Plugins, FM Tile Tools, Seamless Tiling and use the following settings:-

    • Border Width:      0.094
    • Stretch Control:      0.090
    • Vertical:      Checked

  26. Add a new layer for your watermark.

  27. Merge all flatten.
