Ulead Particles

A graphic of your choice.

The photo used for this tutorial was from a group share. If it is yours and you prefer I don't use it, please let me know.

  1. Open your graphic and resize if necessary.

  2. Using your eye dropper chose a darker colour from your graphic for your background colour.

  3. Image, add borders, and add a 10 pixel white border.

  4. Select the border with your magic wand.

  5. Effects, Plugins, Ulead, Particles and use the following settings:-

    • Effect:      Firefly
    • Density:      323
    • Size:      27
    • Variance:      90
    • Opacity:      10
    • Softness:      75
    • Wrap Checked

  6. Deselect.

  7. Image, Add border and add a 20 pixel border using your background colour.

  8. Select the border with your magic wand.

  9. Effects, Plugins, Ulead, Particles and use the following settings:-

    • Effect:      Bubbles
    • Use factory default settings, making sure that Wrap is checked.

  10. Effects, 3D Effects, Outer Bevel and use the following settings:-

    • Bevel 1
    • Width:      8
    • Smoothness:      0
    • Depth:      20
    • Ambience:      0
    • Shininess:      0
    • Colour:      White
    • Angle:      315
    • Intensity:      50
    • Elevation:      30

  11. Deselect.

  12. Repeat steps 3 through to 10.

  13. Add a new layer for your watermark.

  14. If you want to make the colour of your frame match in better with your graphic, go to Adjust, Hue & Satuation and play around until you get a colour that you like.

  15. Merge all and save as a jpeg.

  16. Windows, duplicate.

  17. Effects, Art Media Effects, Brush Strokes and use the following settings:-

    • Softness:      45
    • Bristles:      241
    • Width:      8
    • Opacity:      53
    • Length:      1
    • Density:      95
    • Angle:      259
    • Colour:      #713535

  18. Save this image as your background and save to your desktop.

  19. Open your background image in 20/20

  20. Image, Muted Background, and using the slider, move it down towards 50%. This will also make it a seamless tile.

    You can now put it altogether in Letter Creator.
