Tools needed to complete this tutorial:-
Paint Shop Pro V8
20/20
A tube of your choice.
If you have everything you need, lets get started.
- Open your tube of choice.
- Using your dropper tool, select a light colour for the background and a dark colour for the foreground from your tube.
- Change your foreground to gradient and chose the foreground/background gradient.
- Open a new transparent image, 1024 x length of your tube, plus another 20 pixels.
- Flood fill with your gradient.
- Effects, Texture Effects, Weave and use the following settings:-
- Gap Size: 2
- Width: 65
- Opacity: 25
- Weave color: Black
- Fill gaps: UNchecked
- Effects, Distortion, Warp and use the following settings:
- Horizontal: -52 (minus)
- Vertical: -45 (minus)
- Size: 65
- Strength: -85 (minus)
- Merge all flatten.
- Save as a jpeg and open in 20/20
- Image, seamless tile.
- File, save.
- Open up again in PSP.
- Go back to your tube, edit, copy. You can close the tube off now.
- Go back to your background, edit, paste as new layer.
- Resize if necessary. Using your mover tool, drag the tube over to the left hand side of the background image.
- Rename this layer tube 1. Tube 1 needs to be the top layer until we add the watermark layer.
- Duplicate the tube 1 layer 4 times and name them accordingly.
- Tube 1
- Tube 2
- Tube 3
- Tube 4
- Tube 5
- Close tube 1, the top layer, by clicking on the eye.
- With your mover tool, move all the other tube layers over a little towards the right.
- Once you have all four moved away a little from their starting place, you can turn the top layer back on to see how they line up.
- Any adjustments that need to be made, should be made now.
- Working down the layers change the opacities as follow:--
- Tube 1 100%
- Tube 2 45%
- Tube 3 40%
- Tube 4 35%
- Tube 5 30%
- Make tube 1 the active layer.
- Effects, 3D effects, drop shadow and use the following settings:-
- Vertical: 2
- Horizontal: 6
- Opacity: 75
- Blur: 14
- Color: Black
- Shadow on new layer: UNchecked
- Add a new raster layer and add your watermark.
- Layers, merge all, flatten.
- File, export, JPEG optimizer.
- Set compression value to around the 15 mark.
- You are now ready to take it into Letter Creator. Don't forget to tile it.
