KALEIDOSCOPE SCREEN FRAME




This tutorial is my own creation. Any resemblance to another is purely co-incidental. Please do not pull it apart and claim it as your own. Paint Shop Pro 9

Screenworks Filters

Simple Filters

  1. Open your graphic and resize if necessary.

  2. Shift + D twice to duplicate, minimize one copy for now and close the original.

    FRAME

  3. Using your eye dropper chose a light foreground colour, and a dark background colour from your graphic.

  4. Image, Add border and add a 2 pixel border using your background colour.

  5. Select your border with your magic wand.

  6. Effects, 3D Effects, Drop shadow and use the following settings:-

    • Vertical & Horizontal:      2
    • Opacity:      45
    • Blur:      5
    • Color:      Black

  7. Repeat the drop shadow changing your vertical & horizontal to –2 (minus)

  8. Deselect.

  9. Image, add border and a 15 pixel border using your foreground colour.

  10. Select the border with your magic wand.

  11. Effects, Plugins, Cybia, Screenworks and using the drop down menu chose the Lace Screen settings.

  12. Deselect.

  13. Image, add border and add a 2 pixel border using your background colour.

  14. Select the border with your magic wand and apply the 2 drop shadows used earlier.

  15. Deselect.

  16. Image, add border and add a 25 pixel border using your foreground colour.

  17. Select the border with your magic wand.

  18. Effects, Reflection Effects, Kaleidoscope and use the following settings:-

    • Number of Petals:      10
    • All other settings:      0
    • Reflect:      Checked.

  19. Deselect.

  20. Image, add border and add a 2 pixel border using your background colour.

  21. Select the border with your magic wand and add the same drop shadows used previously.

  22. Add a new raster layer for your watermark.

  23. Merge all flatten.

    BACKGROUND

  24. Open the minimized copy of your graphic.

  25. In your layer palette, right click and promote background layer.

  26. Adjust, blur, Gaussian Blur and use a setting of 20.

  27. Effects, Plugins, Cybia, Screenworks and use the same settings as before.

  28. Lower the opacity to a level of your liking.

  29. Effects, Plugins, Simple, Quick Tile.

  30. Merge all, flatten and save as your background.

  31. You can now take this into letter creator.
