A graphic of your choice.

The graphic used in this tutorial is used as per the TOU of the very talented artist, Cris Ortega.

20/20



  1. Open your graphic and resize if necessary.

  2. Using your selection tool set to rectangle, chose a part of your graphic that you like. You will be using this for the flood fill later on.

  3. Edit, copy.

  4. Edit, paste as a new image.

  5. Save this image to your desktop as a jpeg.

  6. Open your background image in 20/20

  7. Image, Seamless tile and save.

  8. Reopen the muted image in PSP and minimize for now.

  9. Back to our main graphic, selections, select all.

  10. Selections, Modify, contract and contract by 30.

  11. Selections, invert.

  12. In your colour palette, change your foreground to pattern, and search for the pattern that we made in 20/20.

  13. Set the pattern with an angle of 45, and scale of 100.

  14. Flood fill with your pattern.

  15. Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel and use the following settings:-

    • Pie Bevel
    • Width: ,     12
    • Smoothness: ,     2
    • Depth: ,     4
    • Ambience: ,     4
    • Shininess: ,     35
    • Colour: ,     White
    • Angle: ,     315
    • Intensity: ,     40
    • Elevation: ,     40

  16. Selections, invert.

  17. Effects, 3D effects, Cutout and use the following settings:-

    • Vertical & Horizontal: ,     5
    • Opacity: ,     60
    • Blur: ,     30
    • Colour: ,     White

  18. Repeat the cutout settings changing the Vertical & Horizontal to -5 (minus)

  19. Deselect.

  20. Image, add border and add a 5 pixel border using a light colour. For this tutorial I used the lightest grey.

  21. Select the border with your magic wand.

  22. Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel and use the same settings as before.

  23. Image, Add border, and add a 25 pixel white border.

  24. Select the border with your magic wand, and flood fill with the seamless pattern we made earlier.

  25. Effects, Texture Effects, Mosaic - Antique and use the following settings:-

    • Number of columns & Rows: ,     25
    • Tile Opacity: ,     50
    • Grout Width: ,     10
    • Grout Opacity: ,     30
    • Symmetric: ,     Checked

  26. Apply the same inner bevel used before.

  27. Image, Add border and add a 5 pixel border using the light colour used previously.

  28. Select the border with your magic wand and apply the same inner bevel as before.

  29. Deselect.

  30. Add a new raster layer for your watermark. Merge all flatten.

  31. Save as a jpeg and add to a background of your choice.


    You can now put it altogether in Letter Creator.
