Tools needed to complete this tutorial:-

Paint Shop Pro V8

Frame Mask

A tube of your choice.
My sigtag has a tube by OkieDee who has very kindly allowed me to use her tubes in my tutorials.

If you have everything you need, let’s begin

  1. Open your tube and using your eye dropper chose a foreground and background color. Resize your tube if it’s a large one to a size you would like for your sig tag.

  2. Shift + D to duplicate. Close the original.

  3. Image, resize and resize by 85% all layers Unchecked.

  4. Add a new layer and flood fill with your foreground color.

  5. Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load mask from disc and find 221, invert transparency checked.

  6. Layers, Merge, Merge group.

  7. Effects, 3D effects, Inner Bevel and use the following settings:-

    • Pie Bevel
    • Width:      10
    • Smoothness:     40
    • Depth:     10
    • Ambience:     5
    • Shininess:     6
    • Color:     White
    • Angle:     45
    • Intensity:     30

    • Elevation:     60

  8. Effects, 3D Effects, Drop shadow and use the following settings:-

    • Vertical & Horizontal:     4
    • Opacity:     35
    • Blur:     1
    • Color:     Black
    • Shadow on new layer:     Unchecked.

  9. Duplicate this layer.

  10. Image, resize and resize by 50%, all layers Unchecked.

  11. Move this frame to where you like it.

  12. Making sure the tube layer is the active layer, and with your mover tool, move it towards the top so that the bigger frame is covering some of it.

  13. Selections, select all.

  14. Selections, float. Selections, defloat.

  15. In your layer palette, make sure the largest frame layer is the active layer.

  16. Click on your eraser tool, and very carefully remove parts of the frame that are covering your tube.

  17. Deselect.

  18. Add a new layer. Layers, arrange, bring to top.

  19. Click on your text tool and chose a text that you like.

  20. Add the same inner bevel and drop shadow as before.

  21. In your layer palette, make the smallest frame layer active.

  22. Selections, select all.

  23. Selections, float. Selections, defloat.

  24. Highlight your text layer in your layer palette, and again, using your eraser, erase parts of your text that you would like behind the frame.

  25. Selections, selection none.

  26. Highlight your tube layer and add the same drop shadow we used previously.

  27. Merge all, flatten. Resize to around the 300 mark.
