Tools needed to complete this tutorial:
Corel X
A graphic of your choice.
The graphic used in this tutorial is used with permission from the very talented artist, Texoz - starshine.
Filters Unlimited
This is not a free filter but it is well worth the price if you can afford it.
Open your graphic and resize if necessary.
Using your eye dropper chose a dark colour from your graphic for your background and a lighter colour for your foreground.
Image, add border and add a 2 pixel border using your background colour.
Image, add border and add a 2 pixel border using your foreground colour.
Image, add border and add a 2 pixel border using your background colour.
Image, add border and add a 2 pixel border using your foreground colour.
Image, add border and add a 15 pixel border using your background colour.
Using your magic wand, select the 15 pixel border.
Effects, Plugins, Filters Unlimited, Tile & Mirror, Kaleidoscope 1 and use the factory preset.
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel and use the following settings:-
Bevel: 9
Width: 23
Smoothness: 13
Depth: 7
Ambience: 0
Shininess: 0
Colour: White
Angle: 315
Intensity: 44
Elevation: 30
Deselect.
Image, add border and add a 2 pixel border using your background colour.
Image, add border and add a 2 pixel border using your foreground colour.
Image, add border and add a 2 pixel border using your background colour.
Image, add border and add a 2 pixel border using your foreground colour.
Image, add border and add a 25 pixel border using your background colour.
Select the border with your magic wand.
Effects, Plugins and use the Filters Unlimited settings we used earlier.
While still selected, Effects, Distortion Effects, Ripple and use the following settings:-
Amplitude & Wavelength: , 40
Horizontal & Vertical Center:: , 50
Transparent Checked
Selections, invert.
Effects, 3D Effects, Cutout and use the following settings:-
Vertical & Horizontal: , 3
Opacity: , 65
Blur: , 5
Colour: , A dark colour that suits the graphic
Fill interior with colour UNchecked
Deselect.
In your colour palette, make the background colour darker.
Image, Add Border and add a 5 pixel border using the background colour.
Select the border with your magic wand.
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel and use the same settings as before, changing the bevel to #2 (pie).
Add a new raster layer for your watermark. Merge all flatten.
Save as a jpeg and add to a background of your choice.
