BROKEN MIRROR SIDE BORDER

VM Filters

FM Tile Tools

Due to filters shifting constantly, I am no longer offering support for them. You will need to use a search engine if you don't have the filters needed.

Tube of your choice.

The tube I have used for this tutorial is used with permission from Jane of Jazzl Updates.

If you have everything you need, let’s begin.

  • Open your tube of choice.

  • Shift + D to duplicate it and close the original.

  • Image, canvas size and use these settings:-

    • Width:      Same as original.
    • Height:      450
    • Placement:      Middle

    (if your tube is longer than 450 pixels, resize, all layers Unchecked.)

  • View, rulers.

  • Using your eye dropper, chose two complimenting colours from your tube for your foreground and background colour.

  • In your colour palette change your foreground to gradient and chose the fading foreground gradient, angle 90, repeats 0.

  • Add a new layer.

  • Click on your selection tool, and then custom selection and use the following settings:-

    • Top:      0
    • Left:      70
    • Right:      70 less than total width of your graphic.
    • Bottom:      Total height of your graphic.

  • Flood fill with the gradient.

  • Layers, arrange, send to bottom.

  • Deselect.

  • Effects, Plugins, VM Distortion, Broken Mirror and use the following settings:-

    • Pieces:      16
    • Gap:      16
    • falling height:      16
    • entropy:      92
    • transparency:      0
    • mode:      92

  • Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the following settings:-

    • Vertical:      0
    • Horizontal:      5
    • Opacity:      45
    • Blur:      5
    • Color:      Black
    • Shadow on new layer:      Unchecked.

  • Highlight the top layer, edit, repeat drop shadow.

  • Merge visible.

  • Image, canvas size and use the following settings:-

    • Width:      1024
    • Height:      Total height of your graphic
    • Placement:      Left middle arrow

  • In your colour palette, change your foreground gradient to Foreground-background with these settings:-

    • Angle:      90
    • Repeats:      3

  • Add a new layer and flood fill with the gradient.

  • Layers, arrange, send to bottom.

  • Lower the opacity of this layer to around 40%.

  • Effects, Artistic Effects, Topography and use the default settings.

  • Edit, repeat topography.

  • Merge all, flatten.

  • Effects, Plugins, FM Tile Tools, Seamless Tile and use the following settings:-

    • Border Width:      0.102
    • Stretch Control:      0.090
    • Vertical:      Checked

  • Add a new layer for your watermark.
