BOXED SHADOW

Tools needed to complete this tutorial:
Paint Shop Pro V9
Simple Filters
A tube of your choice.
The tube used in this tutorial has been used with permission from Jane, the owner of Jazzl Updates.
If you have everything you need, let's begin.
- Open your tube and using your eye dropper chose a complimenting foreground and background colour.
- Minimize the tube for now.
- In your colour palette, change your foreground to gradient and use the following settings:-
- Foreground-background gradient.
- Angle: 90
- Repeats: 0
- Invert checked.
- Style: Rectangular
- Center Point: 5
- Vertical: 50
- Link center and focal points: Unchecked
- Horizontal: 5
- Vertical: 25
- Open a new 350 x 350 transparent image and flood fill with the gradient.
- Back to our tube, edit, copy.
- Back to our gradient image, edit, paste as new layer.
- Resize the tube if needed.
- Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the following settings:-
- Vertical: -5
- Horizontal: 9
- Opacity: 35
- Blur: 12
- Color: Black
- Shadow on new layer: Unchecked.
- Merge visible.
- Selections, select all.
- Selections, modify, contract by 15.
- Selections, invert.
- Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the following settings:-
- Vertical: 2
- Horizontal: 8
- Opacity: 45
- Blur: 10
- Color: Black
- Deselect.
- In your colour palette, change your foreground to pattern, and using the drop down menu, search for the graphic you’ve just made and set it up on an angle of 45, scale of 100.
- Image, canvas size and use the following settings:-
- Width: 1024
- Height: 350
- Placement: Left middle arrow
- Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the same settings as before.
- Add a new layer and flood fill with the pattern.
- Layers, arrange, send to bottom.
- Effects, Plugins, Simple, Blintz.
- Effects, Plugins, Simple, Zoom out and Flip.
- Lower the opacity of this layer to around 40%.
- Effects, Image Effects, Seamless tiling and use the following settings:-
- Corner checked<>br
- Bidirectional checked
- Transition: 100%
- Curved checked.
- Add a new layer. Layers, arrange, bring to top.
- Add your watermark.
- Merge all flatten.
