Tools needed to complete this tutorial:

Paint Shop Pro V8,

Visual Manipulation

Aumask6
(Save it to your mask folder)

A graphic of your choice.
I don't know the artist of this graphic. If you do, please let me know so that I can give proper credit, or remove.

If you have everything you need, let’s begin.

  1. Open your graphic and resize so that it is no wider than 350 pixels. A graphic that is longer than in width is best for this tutorial.

  2. Shift + D twice, close the original and minimize one of the copies for now.

    BACKGROUND

  3. Effects, plugins, Visual Manipulation, Transmission and use the default settings:

  4. Duplicate the background layer.

  5. Image, rotate, free rotate and rotate 90 degrees to the left, all layers Unchecked.

  6. Merge visible.

  7. Effects, plugins, Visual Manipulation, Transmission and use the default settings again.

  8. Effects, Image Effects, Seamless tiling and use the following settings:-

    • Corner checked.
    • Bidirectional checked.
    • Curved checked.

  9. You can now minimize the background for use a bit later.

  10. Maximize the 2nd copy of the graphic.

    MASKED FRAME

  11. In your layer palette, right click on the background and promote background layer.

  12. Layers, Load/Save mask, load mask from disc and find the aumask6. Invert transparency checked.

  13. Layers, Merge, merge group.

  14. Effects, 3D Effects, Inner bevel and use the following settings:-

    • Pie Bevel
    • Width:     8
    • Smoothness:     2
    • Depth:     1
    • Ambience:     0
    • Shininess:     50
    • Color:     White
    • Angle:     315
    • Intensity:     43
    • Elevation:     35

  15. Image, Canvas size and use the following settings:-

    • Width:     1024
    • Height:     Height of your graphic plus 20 pixels
    • Placement:     Left middle arrow

  16. With your mover tool, move the masked graphic just a little away from the left side so there is a small gap between the masked graphic and the edge of your transparency.

  17. In your colour palette, click on pattern and find the background pattern that we made earlier.

  18. Add a new layer to our image, flood fill with the pattern.

  19. Layers, arrange, send to bottom. Lower the opacity of this layer to around the 40% mark.

  20. In your layer palette, highlight the Group-Raster 1 layer.

  21. Effects, 3D Effects, Drop shadow and use the following settings:

    • Vertical:     0
    • Horizontal:     8
    • Opacity:     55
    • Blur:     10
    • Color:     Black
    • Shadow on new layer:     Unchecked.

  22. Add a new layer for your watermark.

  23. Merge all flatten.

You can now take it into Letter Creator.
    Don’t forget to tile it.
