ATTACK FRAME

This tutorial is my own creation. Any resemblance to another is purely co-incidental. Please do not copy or place on another site without my written permission. Do not translate this tutorial. You are more than welcome to use this tutorial in a group setting, but please link to this page only.
Tools needed to complete this tutorial:
PSP 9
A tube of your choice.
The tube I have used is used with permission from McHooii at Jazzl Updates
Filter Attack.
Due to filters shifting constantly online, I am no longer offering links to them. Please use a search engine to find them.
HEADER
- Open your tube in PSP and using your eye dropper chose two complimenting colours from your tube for the foreground and background colours. Minimize for now.
- Open a new transparent 350 x 450 image.
- Flood fill your transparent image with the darker of your chosen colours.
- Effects, Plugins, Filter Attack and use the Border: Zerstauber with following settings:-

- Add a new layer and flood fill with your lighter colour.
- Effects, Plugins, Filter Attack, Border: Zerstauber with the default settings.
- Merge visible.
- Image, canvas size and use the following settings:-
- Width: 400
- Height: 500
- Placement: Middle arrow.
- Right click on the blue bar of your minimized tube, edit, copy.
- Right click on the blue bar of our working canvas, edit, paste as new layer.
- Image, resize. We want the tube to be larger than the frame.
- Effects, 3D Effects, drop shadow and use the following settings:-
- Vertical: 3
- Horizontal: 7
- Opacity: 55
- Blur: 7
- Color: Black
- Shadow on new layer: Unchecked.
- Repeat the drop shadow changing the Vertical and Horizontal to –1 (minus).
- Merge visible.
- Ctrl + C, and then Ctrl + V to copy and paste as a new image getting rid of any excess transparency.
- Add a new layer and drag to the bottom of your layer palette.
- Chose another complimenting colour from your tube, and flood fill your new layer.
- Add a new layer and drag it to the top. Add your watermark.
- Merge all, flatten.
- Save as your header in jpeg format to your desktop or somewhere you will be able to find it later.
SIDE BARS
- Open a new 100 x 450 transparent image.
- Flood fill with the background colour of your header graphic.
- Right click on the blue top border of your tube, copy.
- Right click on the blue top border of your side bar graphic, edit, paste as new layer.
- Resize the tube so it fits nicely.
- Using your mover tool, move this graphic so that it’s at the top of your side bar.
- In your layer palette, duplicate this layer.
- Image, flip.
- Using your mover tool, move the flipped image up so that it’s touching the top one.
- Close the bottom layer off, and making sure that one of the top two layers is active, merge visible.
- You can open the bottom layer now.
- Right click on your merged layer and duplicate.
- Image, flip.
- Again, close off the bottom layer, making sure one of the top two layers is active, merge visible.
- You can open the bottom layer now.
- Effects, 3D Effects, inner bevel and use the following settings:-
- Pie Bevel:
- width: 8
- Smoothness: 2
- Depth: 2
- Ambience: 0
- Shininess: 2
- Color: White
- Angle: 357
- Intensity: 40
- Elevation: 35
- Effects, 3D Effects, drop shadow and use the following settings:-
- Vertical: 0
- Horizontal: 3
- Opacity: 55
- Blur: 7
- Color: Black
- Shadow on new layer: Unchecked.
- Merge all, flatten and save as left side border.jpg.
- Window, duplicate.
- Image, mirror.
- Save as your right side border.
- Open a new 200 x 200 transparent image and flood fill with the same background colour you’ve used previously.
- Merge all, flatten and save as your background.
- You can now put it altogether in Letter Creator.
