A tube of your choice
The tube used in this tutorial was used with permission from McHooii who has kindly allowed me to use her wonderful tubes in my tutorials.

If you have everything you need, let’s begin.

  1. Open your tube of choice in PSP.

  2. Open a new 400 x 400 transparent image.

  3. Click on your preset shapes and chose the wheel preset, Retain style and Create as vector Unchecked,

  4. Chose a colour from your tube with your eye dropper for the background color. Set the foreground to null.

  5. Draw out your wheel covering most of your transparent image.

  6. Click on your Warp brush with the following settings:-

    • Push mode.
    • Size:      32
    • Hardness:      0
    • Strength:      100

  7. Push your wheel around so that it’s warped out of shape a little.

  8. Effects, Distortion Effects, Displacement Map, Asphalt with the following settings:-

    • Stretch map to fit image checked.
    • Blur:      0
    • 2D offsets checked.
    • Intensity:      50
    • Rotation:      0
    • Repeat checked.

  9. Edit, copy your tube.

  10. Edit, paste as new layer on our warped image. Resize to 75%.

  11. Layers, duplicate. With your mover tool, move this over to the right a little of your original tube.

  12. Effects, Distortion Effects, Displacement Map, Asphalt.

  13. Layers, arrange, move down.

  14. Making sure your top layer is the active layer, effects, 3D Effects, Drop shadow and use the following settings:-

    • Vertical:       -9 (minus)
    • Horizontal:      4
    • Opacity:       65
    • Blur:      15
    • Color:      Black
    • Shadow on new layer:      Unchecked.

  15. Close this layer off, click on one of the bottom two layers, merge visible, and repeat the asphalt on the merged layer.

  16. You can now open the top layer.

  17. Making sure the top layer is now the active layer, click on your text tool, Vector Checked. I used the BrockScript but you can use any text you like.

  18. Shift into place, right click and convert to raster layer

  19. Duplicate this layer.

  20. Effects, Distortion Effects, Displacement Map, Asphalt

  21. Layers, arrange, move down.

  22. Lower the opacity of this layer to around 50%.

  23. Making sure the top layer is active, effects, 3D Effects, drop shadow and apply the same settings as before.

  24. Merge visible.

  25. Ctrl + C and then Ctrl + V to get rid of unwanted transparency.

  26. Merge all flatten and resize if needed.
