3D SIDE FRAME

Corel XI

A tube of your choice
The tube used for this tutorial was from a group share. If you ae the tuber, or original artist please contact me so I can give proper credit, or remove if you so wish.

FM Tile Tools

If you have everything you need, lets begin.

  • Open your tube and resize if necessary.

  • In your layer palette, right click on the tube and duplicate.

  • Select the bottom original tube layer.

  • Effects, Plugins, Two Moon, Vertical Chop Blur and use the following settings:-

    • Karate Kount:      0
    • The Dark Side:      11

  • Duplicate this layer.

  • Image, Flip.

  • Close the top layer and making sure that one of the bottom two layers is the active layer, right click, merge visible.

  • Effects, Plugins, Two Moon, Balloons and use the following settings:-

    • Size:      38
    • Inner Circles:      236
    • Rotation 1:      48
    • Rotation 2:      53
    • Red Circles:      136
    • Green Circles:      204
    • Blue Circles:      75

  • Effects, Plugins, Picture Man Collection, Art Gallery, 3D Mosaic and use the following settings:-

    • Horizontal size:      10
    • Vertical size:      16
    • Border:      1
    • Relief:      17
    • Defect:      16

  • Edit, repeat 3D Mosaic.

  • Lower the opacity of this layer to around 65%

  • Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen.

  • Edit, repeat Sharpen.

  • In your layer palette, select the top layer.

  • Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the following settings:-

    • Vertical:      26
    • Horizontal:      57
    • Opacity:      25
    • Blur:      5
    • Color:      Black
    • Shadow on new layer:      Unchecked

  • Add a new raster layer and drag this to the bottom of your layer palette.

  • Click on your selection tool and use the following settings:-

    • Top:      0
    • Left:      50
    • Right:      100
    • Bottom:      Total length of your graphic

  • Using your eye dropper tool, select a colour from your tube and flood fill the selection.

  • Effects, Plugins, Picture Man Collection, Art Gallery, 3D Mosaic and use the same settings used previously.

  • Deselect.

  • Effects, Distortion Effects, Wind and use the following settings:-

    • From left:      checked
    • Wind strength:      15

  • Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen.

  • Edit, repeat Sharpen.

  • Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the following settings:-

    • Vertical:      0
    • Horizontal:      2
    • Opacity:      55
    • Blur:      2
    • Color:      Black
    • Shadow on new layer:      Unchecked

  • Merge visible.

  • Image, Canvas size and use the following settings:-

    • Width:      1250
    • Height:      Total length of your graphic
    • Placement:      Left middle arrow

  • Add a new raster layer and drag this to the bottom of your layer palette.

  • Using your eye dropper chose a color that compliments the one chosen previously.

  • In your colour palette, select gradient for your foreground colour, then using your drop down menu, select the foreground/background gradient (Corel_06_029) with the following settings:-

    • Angle:      0
    • Repeats:      2
    • Style:      Linear

  • Flood fill the bottom layer.

  • Effects, Plugins, Picture Man Collection, Art Gallery, 3D Mosaic and use the following settings:-

    • Horizontal size:      10
    • Vertical size:      16
    • Border:      1
    • Relief:      1
    • Defect:      6

  • Lower the opacity if necessary.

  • Merge all, flatten.

  • Selections, select all.

  • Selections, modify, contact and contract by 2.

  • Hit the Ctrl + C key.

  • Hit the Ctrl + V key.

  • This will help remove any gap between the top and bottom drop shadow.

  • Effects, Plugins, FM Tile Tools, Seamless tile and use the following settings:-

    • Border Width:      0.125
    • Stretch Control:      0.063
    • Vertical:      Checked

  • Add a new raster layer for your watermark.

  • Merge all, flatten.
